Prophet arrested for alleged kidnapping

The Ogun State Police Command has
arrested a self-acclaimed prophet for
alleged kidnapping.The officer in
charge of the state Special Anti Robbery
Squad (SARS), CSP Gbenga Megbope, is
currently interrogating Prophet Michael
Ayinde, pastor of the Kingdom of Peace
Church, Randa, Ayetoro in Abeokuta.
The state police boss, Abdulmajid Ali,
said there was a case of a missing
person reported to the police over three
years ago by parents of the missing boy.
He noted that when he resumed office,
he ordered full investigation into the
matter and a few days ago, detectives
from SARS got a tip-off that the missing
boy was in the captivity of a certain
Prophet Ayinde.
The CP said the boy was rescued from
the prophet and has been handed over
to his family, who had been in trauma
for over three years.
He said: “Why should a man of God,
who has his own children, keep in his
custody another person’s child for three
years without thinking of the agony the
family would be facing? The man will
soon be charged to court.”
The suspect, who was in tears while
speaking to newsmen said: “I am a true
prophet born by birth. I am a
deliverance minister called by God. I
have been delivering those in captivity.
The boy in question ran down to me
and begged me to deliver him from a
strange ailment.
“When I prayed for him, the spirit
revealed that the boy was under
household manipulation and attack.
When he defecates, maggot and worms
were coming out of his body. After
doing some spiritual work on him, he
became well. He was healed. After
healing him, he begged that I should
allow him to stay with me.
“My brother, I made the mistake of my
life by allowing the boy to remain in
my prayer house. I made several
attempts to take him back home, but
the boy would beg that I should not. He
calls me Daddy. I treated him like my
own child. This boy is not a kid as the
police are saying. He is 16 years old. He
has his own mind. He is very intelligent
and knows what he is doing and I
respect his own opinion.
“I did not kidnap him and he was not
under any spell. God will vindicate me.
Life is a school, we learn everyday. I
won’t make such a mistake next time. If
God finally sets me free, I will always
contact the family of my visitors. Go
and ask of me, God has been using me
mightily in the area of curing ailments
and releasing the afflicted from
bondage,” he said.
